Center for Black Sea Archaeology was established in May 2000 in Halle,
Germany to promote research on the culture, history and archaeology of
the Black Sea and Northern Aegaean Region. It is a non-profit research
and educational organization

interdisciplinary research in Pre- and Protohistoric Archaeology, Near
Eastern Archaeology and Classical Archaeology
- Offers
an international forum for scientists interested in Black Sea Archaeology
- Promotes
the research of the circumpontic region and its pre-, protohistoric and
historic importance as a communication crossroads between East and West
and Asia and Europe
- Supports
exchange between archaeologists and their work across national and geopolitical
borders
- Encourages
and supports research and field projects, excavations, publications, excursions
and lectures in and about the Black Sea and Northern Aegaean Region
